Owner/Engineer John Salk opened Digital Asylum Sound in April 2008. John has worked professionally in the audio industry for close to 20 years after graduating from the Institute of Audio Research, NYC in 1992. He began his career in Post Production working with clients such as NBC, Nickelodeon, HBO, VH1 and MTV to name a few. He went on to work in film. Editing, mixing and designing sound effects for studios like Fox Searchlight Films. Since then he has won many awards for his work including the Grand Jury Award for Best Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival and an Emmy for Best Variety & Musical Special for the Disney Channel.
