“I have to say this school district really pushes students to their fullest potential. Although a bit overwhelming with projects and research papers that all seem to be 'due' at the same time, I am very confident my children will be better equipped for college. A huge pain in the bottom is the 'dress code'. What a mess!! What pre-teen or teenage girl wants a closet full of collared shirts in every color or the rainbow!! This puts way too much pressure on fashion and rules are always being 'bent'. Why the heck doesn't the board just enforce a strict uniform. It would save parents and students alike a lot of aggravation. I know most of the students would rather uniforms.”

“The Abington School District has a lot to offer but there are a few things that should be stopped - now. The bus schedule is ridiculous, some students get picked up before 7AM. Everyone knows how important sleep is to children and adolescents - well, unless you're putting your kids to bed at 8 or 9PM, they are not getting enough sleep. Also, the awful 'Blue Team/White Team' separation of kids in middle school has got to go. It's supposed to foster teamwork and give kids a chance to get to know new kids. All it does is divide kids against each other's team and everyone knows that parents call an request that their kids be put on the team with all their friends or whatever is supposed to be the 'good' team each year. Stop this nonsense now - schools should be for learning. Period.”

“I always felt the academics at the school were excellent, especially for the honors students. Music and art are readily available. Strong music department. Band, chorus and orchestra available. Overall, great school.”

“Go back to work. The teachers of Abington Heights are acting like a bunch of babies. Why do you want benefits that no other school district's teacher's get? The strike is ridiculious and the teachers should know their roles and teach.”

“As with most any public school district, Abington Heights employs teachers whose dedication, enthusiasm, and ability range from low to very high. Our daughter just graduated from this school district after receiving a full 12 years of education within its system. Some teacher are excellent, others are mediocre, and others should simply be replaced. In short, the overall school quality is good, but the teachers aren't quite as valuable as they like to think they are.”
