The Lackawanna Interscholastic Athletes Association is in the midst of its annual meeting, which begins January 21-22, and Majikes will convene members of the District 2 committee to expedite adoption of recommendations. The topic of the mask - the wearing of rules for the next school year 2016 / 17 - is also discussed. The meeting scheduled for January 6 in the school district committee of the Scranton Area School of Education will not take place today, but there will have been a special meeting at Scranton High School at 7: 30 p.m. on the same day, January 7.

In addition, information about extracurricular activities may be included in the school district's annual report for the 2016-17 school year.

In baseball, the area is pretty much full of Yankees, Phillies and Red Sox fans here and there, but because of its proximity, NEPA has its share of Phillies or Mets fans. I'm definitely a Yankee fan and a Sox fan for years, though I've seen an increase in the number of fans this year because of the Yankees' success. There's fan loyalty, no question, and that's a big part of the reason baseball's popularity in northeastern Pennsylvania.

Personally, I despise the idea of the word "criss-cross," but I can't see how anyone can be found. There are many people who like New York's one sport, but most go to one city, and it makes much more sense to visit both cities. They will find Yankees and Giants fans, so I'm willing to give up my dislike of all three because of their competitiveness. As for Cities, everyone can admit to being a fan of the Knicks, though personally I don't like that idea.

With criss-crossers and the age of free agency, it's very difficult to stay loyal to a particular city or team these days. Still, I think most people claim loyalty to the Pittsburgh Penguins, but that doesn't mean there aren't fans out there. The NHL is not as popular in the region as the AHL (WB, Scranton Penguins), but you can follow them on Twitter, Facebook, and other social media sites.

The Yankees have not been a flop in the division over the years, but I have a lot to do with my father and grandfather growing up as Yankee fans. Atlanta was successful when it was younger, ruling the NL East for basically 10 years with the same team.

Teams that do not qualify for the postseason can continue to schedule regular-season games, exceeding the maximum of 22 games. A team that drops out of the playoffs can schedule a game to fill out the schedule without going over 22, and teams that do not qualify for the playoffs cannot schedule games to exceed that value.

The District 2 committee must finally decide whether it requires the team to play the qualifying game for the postseason. First-year royals studying Kinesiology (BS) must have completed a degree at a recognised high school and have obtained a Commonwealth Secondary School Diploma (CSSD). Money Magazine ranked Scranton at 191st in the nation's affordability rankings, with $4,388 added to $5,101 for apartments, according to a study by the Center for Housing and Community Development at the University of Pennsylvania. If you live in a city with a median household income of more than $50,000 per year, you can live on a cost of about $3,500 per month.

I think where there are so many major league teams around, it's okay to like a team in multiple markets. The proximity to the University of Pennsylvania and the high quality of life make Scranton ideal for internships.
